  Prologue -- Luke

I smiled as I watched Krystal walking toward me, and I knew exactly what she had on her mind. I was sitting up in bed, flipping through the 2014 Harley Davidson catalogue and trying to decide if I wanted to buy a brand new bike or a vintage one, when she entered the bedroom and completely distracted me.

"I hate to interrupt you," she said, all wide-eyed and full of fake innocence. "But I wanted to know what you thought of my outfit."

She turned around slowly, letting me take a good, long look at her. Her long, dark hair was pulled up into a messy bun, and her just-cut bangs framed her face. She hadn't put any makeup on, and her fresh face would have made her look sweet and naive if it hadn't been for the clothes she wore. Her tight, white button-down shirt was tied just beneath her breasts, and it was unbuttoned just enough to reveal spectacular cleavage and a glimpse of a red plaid bra that matched the tiny plaid skirt she wore. The naughty schoolgirl look was completed by white stockings held up by garters that were barely covered by her skirt, what little of it there was. She didn't have shoes on, but a pair of black patent mary janes with three-inch heels dangled from her hand.

"Should I put the shoes on to give you the full effect?" she asked.

I closed my catalogue. "I definitely want the full effect."

Krystal dropped both of the shoes and stepped into one of them, bending over to buckle it, and treating me to the sight of her breasts that threatened to spill out of the plaid push-up bra. The first shoe buckled, she turned around to face away from me as she bent over to buckle the second one. She wasn't wearing underwear beneath the miniskirt, and she spread her legs apart a little, giving me a full view of her ass and her naked and shaved pussy.

"Where do you plan to wear this little getup?" I asked, unable to resist the temptation to stroke myself through the sheets.

She turned around to face me. "Oh, I don't know," she said as if it were any other outfit. "I thought maybe out to dinner tonight?"

I laughed. "You're a funny girl. I suspect that you know that in that outfit, you are dinner."

  "So you like it?"

"I love it. And I want to take it off of you. Come here."

She walked toward me slowly and came to stand next to my side of the bed. She waited for me to set my catalogue on the nightstand and swing my legs to the side of the bed. I pushed the sheets aside so that she could see my erection. She licked her lips and waited for me to tell her what to do. Sometimes she took charge and just climbed on top to fuck me, and sometimes she wanted me in charge. Tonight, I was in control. I untied the bottom of her shirt and unbuttoned the single button that held her shirt together. I slid the shirt completely off and looked at her — full breasts with the nipples barely visible beneath the plaid fabric that barely contained her tits. The skirt sat low on her hips, and I pulled her toward me, burying my face in her cleavage and running my hands up beneath the back of her skirt to squeeze two handfuls of her ass.

"Jesus, Krystal. You're gonna kill me, girl. I swear to God, you're sexier every single day."

She smiled down at me as I raised my face from her tits.

"Take off the bra," I said, leaning back a little to enjoy the show.

She reached behind her and unhooked the bra, covered her breasts with her hands, and tossed the bra to the floor. The sight of her, in the short skirt, bare, probably wet pussy underneath, acting like she was shy enough to cover her perfect tits made me want to fuck her hard, right away, in every way I could think of.

I reached up and moved her hands away, pulling her toward me. Thinking of sucking on her dark pink nipples made my cock even harder, and I reached up and lightly pinched both of them, enjoying hearing her catch her breath and feeling her arch her back in pleasure. I leaned forward and flicked on of her nipples with the tip of my tongue, squeezing the other one lightly with my fingers. As I sucked the nipple into my mouth, I heard Krystal moan, and I knew from experience that her pussy was wet, and she was ready for my cock any time I wanted to give it to her.

While I sucked and licked and lightly bit her nipples, I put my hand underneath her skirt. She put one of her feet up on the bed next to me, so I could easily slip my finger inside her.

"You're wet," I said, pulling my slippery finger out of her and sliding two fingers back inside.

"That's because I want you," Krystal answered, arching her back again as I slid another finger inside.

She gasped as I pushed my fingers deeper inside her, and I decided that I had to fuck her. I couldn't wait.

I stood up. "Lie down," I told her.

She reached up to unzip her plaid skirt, and I reached out to stop her.

"I'm gonna fuck you in your little schoolgirl skirt. Leave it on."

Smiling, Krystal laid down sideways across the big king bed, and as she reached up and squeezed her nipples with both hands, she spread her legs wide, showing me her smooth, wet pussy. I bent down and forced my three fingers back inside her, bending to find her clit with my tongue.

She lifted her hips and whispered to me. "Luke, that feels so good."

I worked my way up her body with my lips, lingering over her breasts and finally finding my way to her mouth. I kissed her slowly, deeply, and it occurred to me that I didn't think I'd ever grow tired of kissing the amazing woman beneath me. As I knelt between her legs, about to enter her, Krystal looked at me.

  "I love you, Luke."

"Callaway. Let's go. Your lawyer's here."

The guard's voice woke me from my afternoon nap, and I was reluctant to leave Krystal, even if she was only in my dreams. I didn't even bother to cover up the hard-on. It was nothing new in my current circumstances. I waited for my erection to go away so I could take a leak while the guard stood at the door of my cell and waited to escort me to one of the other lovely rooms in the Denver County Jail.

  Chapter 1 -- Krystal

  Tuesday, August 6, 2013

"What?" I asked, pulling the earbud from one of my ears. I hated it when people tried to talk to me while I was at the gym. I slowed my pace on the treadmill and used the sleeve of my shirt to wipe the sweat from my face as the red-faced man who'd approached me repeated himself.

"You in town on business?" he asked, trying not to stare at my tits.

I'd noticed him for the last couple of days, trying to sneak glances in when he thought I wouldn't catch him. I suspected that I was the only reason that he was in the workout room — even though he clearly needed the exercise — and I'd hoped that my silence and refusal to make eye contact would make it clear that I wasn't interested in conversation or anything else. Clearly he hadn't gotten the message.

I shook my head and bumped the pace back up, hoping he'd just leave. "Not exactly," I answered.

He wasn't a hint-taker. "I've seen you in here by yourself, and I wondered if maybe you wanted some company for dinner."

He didn't seem like a creep, just like a lonely guy, so I decided not to be too hard on him. "No, but thanks for the offer. My evenings are spoken for."

Now that wasn't exactly true, but I wasn't about to try to explain the ridiculously complicated situation I was in to some guy trying to pick me up in the fitness center of the Denver Ritz Carlton. I put my earbud back in and hoped he'd just leave.

He did, and I reflected on the strange, strange life I was leading. Luke was in the Denver lockup, marking off the days until his trial for the murder of my ex-boyfriend. It still was surreal to realize that he was looking at serving time for Bug's death, especially since he'd only hit Bug to keep him from killing me. Bryan, Luke's lawyer, had been just wonderful, but he was as mystified as the rest of us about why Luke had been charged at all, much less denied bail. The whole situation was just bizarre.

It had been nearly a month that Luke had been in jail, and he still insisted that I stay at the Ritz on his tab. I'd finally talked him into letting me move into one of the smaller suites, partly because it was a little less outrageously expensive, and partly because the huge one he'd been in reminded me too much of him and the few wonderful times we'd been together before I'd totally fucked up his life.

The stress of Luke's being in jail had been awful, and the situation was even worse because Sable completely blamed me for the fact that her son was in custody. Like I didn't want Luke out as badly as she did. One of the few things that was keeping me sane was the commitment I'd made to use the hotel's workout facilities to make sure that when Luke did get out that I was in great shape and looked good. I had plans for the man that involved hours upon hours spent naked. I'd finally fallen in love, and I couldn't wait until he got out so that I could show him how I felt.

A sweaty mess, I finished up my hour on the treadmill and headed upstairs to shower and get ready to go visit Luke before I started the evening shift at work. Bryan had met with the prosecutor earlier that day, and Luke and I were hoping he'd have some insight into what was going on.

I walked up to the county jail, hoping that I wasn't going to have any problems getting in to see Luke. Some days, the folks in charge didn't seem to care at all how long I spent with Luke, but on a couple of occasions, they'd refused to let me see him at all, never really giving me a satisfactory explanation as to why. The whole situation just felt weird. I signed in at the front desk, and I handed my keys to the attendant. I knew by now that there was no sense in bringing my purse inside, as I'd just have to surrender it at the desk. I wasn't allowed to take anything with me when I went back to see Luke.

Since Bryan was already there, the deputy was going to take me right in to see Luke. I ran my fingers through my hair to make sure it was smooth, and I was starting down the hall when I heard a woman call my name. I turned around to see the woman FBI agent that I'd met the night that Luke was arrested. I hadn't seen her since the day Luke was arraigned, and I was hopeful that maybe she'd be able to shed some light on why Luke's predicament seemed to be so peculiar.

"Krystal," the woman said, extending her hand. "Good to see you again. It's Kate," she said, reminding me of her name. "Kate Tanner."

Glad she'd reminded me, I instantly felt the same warm connection that I'd felt with her when we first met. "Agent Tanner, I'm glad to see you."

"Call me Kate, please," she said with a smile. "What are you doing here? Not in trouble, are you," she asked, clearly joking.

"No, I'm not in trouble," I laughed. "But Luke is. He's still here, and I stop by every day, hoping they'll let me see him. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't."

Kate looked surprised. "Luke's still being held? Still for the death of your ex?"

I nodded and shrugged, frustrated by the mess.

Kate leaned forward to look around me and signal to the deputy who was waiting to escort me to Luke.

"Can I help you?" he asked as he came closer.

"Is there a meeting room I can use for a few minutes?" Kate asked, flipping open her credentials.

The deputy examined her identification. "Come with me," he said, leading the way down a hallway in the opposite direction. "We have a couple of rooms that we rarely use over here. Take as long as you like," he said, as he unlocked the door and turned on the light.

"Thanks," Kate said as she looked around the small room, devoid of any decoration. A rectangular table filled the center of the room, and she waved me to take one of the six chairs that ringed the table.

I sat down and waited as she closed the door.

"Tell me what's going on, Krystal."

"Luke's been charged with murder, and the judge denied his bail."

  "What?" Kate asked, clearly shocked.

"Yeah," I said, shaking my head. "Luke's attorney couldn't believe that he was charged at all. Our stories agree, and he clearly didn't intend to kill Bug. He was just trying to stop Bug from killing me."

"But why was his bail denied?" Kate asked. "Does he have a criminal record?"

"No. He's clean as can be. He's never even jaywalked, for Christ's sake. They denied his bail because his parents left him a lot of money when they died. The prosecutor said that he's a flight risk since he has so much money."

"So how long's he been here?"

"A month!" I exclaimed, trying to keep my voice down to a civil level. "His trial's not even scheduled to start for another month or so, and he's already lost a month of his freedom in this fucking place." I covered my mouth with my hand, embarrassed that I'd let the curse word slip out in front of such a polite and helpful lady.

Kate put her hand on my arm. "Krystal, you have no reason to apologize. I believe what you're saying, but it just doesn't make sense. What does Luke's attorney say about all of this?"

I figured that it couldn't hurt anything to tell Kate the truth. "Well, at first he thought that you and the guy from the DEA had something to do with it. That maybe you wanted to hold Luke to see if he knew anything about the stuff that Moses and the Savage Sons used to be into." I might be confiding in Kate, but I sure knew better than to talk about the fact that the Sons used to cook and deal meth.

"Well, he's a smart guy," Kate said. "At first, we were interested in Luke. Since he'd just joined the MC, though, it became abundantly clear that he didn't really know much about what may have been going on in the past. As far as we can tell, the Sons are operating on the up and up."

I leaned forward, thrilled that Kate understood Luke's position. "Oh, they are legit. They're opening a legal dispensary in a few months, or they will if Luke gets out in time. All of the licensing has gone through him, since all of the Sons have some legal trouble in their background." That was an understatement, but if Kate didn't know about all of the shit the guys had gotten into, I sure wasn't going to tell her. I trusted her, but it would be stupid to show too much checkered past to a woman who might actually be able to help Luke.

Kate sat and thought for a moment before she stood up. "Sit tight for a minute, Krystal, if you can. I'm going
to go see what I can find out."

"I can stay for a little while, but I have to be at work by four," I told her.

"Oh, this won't take long," Kate assured me. "Be back in a few." She shut the door behind her.

I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I was excited that maybe someone in this mess could tell us exactly what was going on. Even if we couldn't get Luke out before his trial, I'd sleep better at night if I knew why he was being prosecuted for a crime that he didn't commit.

Kate came back in about ten minutes later, and she looked very solemn.

"So the prosecutor's here, and the news I have for you isn't good, Krystal." She sat down. "He said he's got the case absolutely locked up. He wouldn't give me the details, but he says that he has incontrovertible evidence that Luke planned to kill Bug."

I felt like she'd physically hit me. "But he didn't. There's no way."

"Krystal, I've known this guy for a long time, and if he says he's got it, he's got it."

"But this doesn't make any sense. I was there, and Luke didn't even know that Bug was in the house. We thought he was up in Fort Collins. This is just crazy."

  "Honey, I'm sorry."

I could tell that Kate felt really awful about having been the one to break such horrible news to me, and I would have tried to keep my chin up, but I just couldn't. All of my hopes for a life with Luke could be gone, and it really was all my fault. I just lost it, tears running down my face, and huge sobs wracking me. Kate left and returned with a box of kleenex, and I completely cried myself out while she sat quietly with me.
